Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK) is a free program designed to prepare four-year-old children for kindergarten and build the foundation for their educational success. VPK is available to all four-year-olds that live in Florida, regardless of family income.
The 2024/25 program year will be available in January!
For the 2024/25 program year, children must be born between September 2, 2019 and September 1, 2020.
VPK provides an early childhood educational experience that supports the development of early literacy, pre-math skills, scientific thinking, and social skills development.
When a student successfully completes the VPK program, they are more ready for kindergarten than children who do not attend VPK.
Proof of Child's Residency: (One of the following) P.O. BOXES ARE NOT ACCEPTABLE

The VPK Specialized Educational Services or VPK SIS is available for age-eligible children with disabilities as evidenced by a current individual educational plan (IEP). The Department of Education approves SIS providers whose services meet statutory standards, maintains a list of approved providers, and notifies each school district and early learning coalition of the approved provider list.
